I remember to last fall when I walked the Streets of Old Town Sacramento looking through the crowds and many faces trying to find Kevin&Nicole for their engagement session, when I finally spotted them I was greeted by kind smiles and hugs...and was instantly smitten by these two strangers. I remember clearly thinking "WOW!!!!" and brainstorming in my head how I could casually replace Nicole toned arms and super glue them to my own body. You see Kevin&Nicole are that couple that from first glance look like they were build (literally) for one another, we all know those couples, you know the ones who our eyes notice when they are walking through the mall together or shopping for cereal at the grocery store...the couple that makes the everyday stuff look so effortless and shiny because they look so good placed to one another, like being by each others side is the exact place for them to exist in this world. Kevin&Nicole are those people, they are that couple, but beyond that physical element (that I'm so jealous over) Kevin&Nicole are made for each other in every other way possible that can be imagined. This was something I learned quickly during the time we spent walking, talking, and laughing during their engagement shoot. I drove away from that session with so many hopes of the happiest ever after for these two and was already daydreaming of their wedding day. Fast forward to March 26, 2016 the day that was Kevin&Nicole's wedding day at the beautiful Citizen Hotel in downtown Sacramento. I arrived, heart full of happiness and smile on my face knowing that today was the day was the day that not only marked the start of a marriage yet simply cemented in stone a shared life between two people which had already taken on its own identity and began way before this celebration. The day was beautiful, the sky was clear and the emotions were overflowing on the top floor of The Citizen Hotel were Nicole was sharing giggles and tears of joy with the women who own her heart along side with her two adorably handsome sons. It was one of those wedding days for me where I secretly had to turn my head and pull the camera away from my face because my own tears of joy for Nicole were making their own grand entrance, there was not a dry eye in that beautiful hotel suite because every single one of us was over joyed for Nicole and the happy ever after that she has found in Kevin. The rest of the day went on just as emotionally charged and full of warmth and well wishes for these two people, from their romantic exchange of "I love you's" before the ceremony separated by a door grasping each others hands to Kevin getting down on one knee during their vows and promising forever to Nicole's sons as they clung to her waist, there was a memory after memory being edged all day long. I will take away so many fond moments from this day but one that I will never forget is when Nicole's best friend stood up and said "Last night Nicole and I stayed together, she has been my best friend through so may years and has always needed me, but last night I realized that what Nicole needs most in this world is Kevin." me along with everyone else in that room knew that nothing could be more true. So here is to a lifetime together of needing each other and knowing that the real strength lies in your love for one another and in those muscles (that I will always envy) that you two hold one another with from here to always.
